Giant agave bug

This giant agave bug, Acanthocephala thomasi, is not a small insect. Thankfully it feeds on plant sap rather than blood or something. This one is a male, as evidenced by his beefy "thighs," complete with sharp spurs. Males use their legs to battle each other over food resources and potential mates.
